Out of more than 3,600 projects from over 100 countries, fifteen were chosen. One of them is from Chișinău.
The 2026 Technovation Girls global competition drew more than 3,600 submitted projects from over 100 countries. Fifteen were selected as global finalists. The Moldovan team TUTO AI is one of them, and the only European finalist in the Senior Division.
The team built an artificial-intelligence powered digital tutor for students in Moldova, under the guidance of Glia Impact Hub and the Association of Women Entrepreneurs of Moldova (AFAM).
What makes it interesting is a design decision rather than a technical one. Most tools of this kind answer the question. TUTO AI uses the Socratic method instead: it responds with questions, and keeps asking until the student has arrived at the answer themselves. The goal is to build critical thinking, and to make copying and memorisation the harder path rather than the easier one.
In October the five of them travel to the Technovation World Summit in Bengaluru, India, to pitch live on stage before an international jury, against the best young technologists in the world.
The teams came from across Moldova, rural and urban. Alongside the Technovation curriculum, Glia ran leadership sessions led by Moldovan women who run businesses, and one-to-one mentoring for every team through the season. The programme sits inside Glia’s Innovation pillar.
